Dhaka, May 15 (V7N) – Temporary gusty winds, lightning, and rain or thundershowers are likely in several parts of Rangpur, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions, and at isolated places in Dhaka, Rajshahi, Khulna, Barisal, and Chittagong divisions over the next 24 hours, starting from 9 am Thursday.

According to the latest weather bulletin from the Bangladesh Meteorological Department, heavy rainfall is also likely at some places in Rangpur, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions.

Meanwhile, a mild to moderate heat wave is sweeping across Faridpur, Madaripur, Manikganj, Gopalganj, Narayanganj, Pabna, Sirajganj, and Chandpur districts, as well as most areas of Khulna and Barisal divisions. The heat wave may subside in some places, the forecast said.

Daytime temperatures across the country are expected to drop slightly, while night temperatures are likely to remain unchanged.

In terms of synoptic conditions, a low pressure area stretches from West Bengal to the north Bay of Bengal through southwestern Bangladesh, influencing current weather patterns.

On Wednesday, the highest temperature in the country was recorded in Chuadanga at 39.4°C, while the lowest temperature today was 21.3°C in Sylhet.
