Bagerhat, Nov 01 (V7N) – A dialogue meeting with members of the Hindu community was held on Saturday at Ghashiyakhali Bazar in Bohrabunia Union, Morelganj Upazila. The session began at 11 a.m. and aimed to foster communal harmony and mutual understanding.
The chief guest, Kazi Khairuzzaman Shipon, a district BNP leader and aspirant for nomination in the Bagerhat-3 constituency, addressed the gathering. He emphasized the party’s vision of unity, stating that under the leadership of BNP’s Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, people of all communities – Hindu, Muslim, and others – should live together peacefully as brothers and sisters.
The meeting was presided over by Partha Ray. Special guests included Shikdar Faridul Islam, president of Morelganj Municipal BNP; former chairman Ataur Rahman; Upazila BNP Senior Joint General Secretary Professor Russell Al Islam; BNP leader Faruk Hossain Samad; and district Jubo Sangsad Joint General Secretary Saiful Islam Sohag, among others. The event was hosted by former student leader Nazmun Nasim Rakhi.
Participants engaged in open discussions, highlighting the importance of interfaith dialogue and community solidarity. Local leaders called for continued efforts to strengthen social cohesion in the area and emphasized cooperation across religious and social groups for peaceful coexistence.
