Dhaka, Jun 30 (V7N) — The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has forecast gusty winds of up to 60 km/h in several parts of the country, accompanied by rain or thundershowers, and advised inland river ports in the affected areas to display Warning Signal No. 1.

The warning was issued in a special weather bulletin for the country's inland river ports, valid from 9:30 p.m. on Monday (June 29) until 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday (June 30).

According to the forecast, temporary south or southeasterly winds with speeds of 45 to 60 kilometres per hour may sweep across the Khulna, Barisal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Cumilla, Chattogram, Cox's Bazar and Sylhet regions.

The Meteorological Department also warned that rain or thundershowers are likely to accompany the gusty winds in these areas.

In view of the forecast, inland river ports in the affected regions have been advised to keep Naval Warning Signal No. 1 hoisted until further notice.
