Thakurgaon, Sep 07 (V7N) — President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Monday laid the foundation stone for the permanent campus of Thakurgaon University.
The President laid the foundation stone at the proposed university site in Jamalpur area of Thakurgaon Sadar Upazila shortly after 11am.
Speaking at the event, Mirza Fakhrul expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Tarique Rahman for his cooperation in establishing the university.
He urged everyone to work for the country's progress with tolerance and mutual respect, rather than conflict or revenge.
The President also expressed hope that Thakurgaon University would provide quality education and contribute to the development of higher education in the region.
